While many shards focused on power or crafting or creating there was a group of scribes and researchers who cared only to record. It is rumoured that they were led by a trio of gods who showed them some upcoming calamity and commanded them to prepare for any contingency. To that end the library was started. It is not so much a physical building but a network of extremely well trained and capable scholars who constantly move works from one location to another, making copies at each step and leaving crèches of knowledge in safe houses and allied libraries. When the Wyld was unleashed the library already had prepared and even with the loss of the shards it continued to operate. There are even rumors that several wagonloads of documents were spirited away from Caer Carnalon a fortnight before the night of fire but days later the wagons were found to only contain flasks of wine and salt.

The leadership of the library is hidden and even the reporting structure is veiled in secrecy so no single librarian could represent a weakness to the organization. They communicate through message drops and riddles on local boards and all strive to be the protector of knowledge against all possible threats.

There are four blooms of undead on your ledger and ten unique manuscripts under your care. Please remember the contingencies that we have set in your path. Call for wren or sparrow or hawk and we shall ensure it is answered. I have left the fourth name you sought in the white tree of Traig. Our sight, our memory, and our calling as always is endless.
